Great Britain; Cousins, Poppies and Pubs

A good overnight flight on British Airways and we arrive in London again.  A quick bite of pasta in South Kensington and a long recovery sleep.  Up the next day and off to a cool map shop (yeah geologists thinks maps are cool, get over it) then off to the Tower of London to meet cousins Ros and Steve from Cheltenham.  Why the tower you ask?  Well, Dwayne did not need beheading just yet so we went for another reason.  To commemorate the one hundreth anniversary of WWI, GB is putting ceramic poppies around the Tower of London.  Each of these represent one British solider who was killed in the first world war.  They will put the last one of 888,246 in place on November 11th, 2014.  Cousins wanted to see the poppies too, so we met them there.  It is quite a sight.  The rest of the day was spent in a few pubs with said cousins sampling the local beers and ciders.  Steve and Ros both agreed that one day holidays were good and they both wondered why pints in the heart of London were so cheap!
