Bath & Bristol

The day was spent with Zoe, Chris and Lily (from Calgary Zargon Days) puttering around the British countryside near Bath where they live.  We started in Clifton at an observatory and ended up down at the docks in Bristol on the SS Great Britain which was the first iron hulled steam ship. Had a fabulous tapas lunch and the sun finally came out at about 3:00.

  1. I looked up SS Great Britain on Wikipedia and it's an interesting read. From it's record making history as a transatlantic passenger ship to being used as a quarantine ship in the mid 1880's, amongst other things, and then being scuttled in the 30's (a fact I find mildly alarming). The post restoration pictures are very impressive but it must be amazing to see in person.

Thanks Andrea and Dwayne, keep us posted.
